WAGE SUBSIDIES

BC Enviormental Youth Team: Youth in enviromental or recreational fields. Up to $7.50. per hour. Youth must be aged 16-24 years of age.

Bladerunners: Subsidy for construction and trade workers. Employers recieve up $3 per hour for up to 9 months. Employees must be between 19-28 years of age.

Destinations: Subsidy for anyone insterested in the tourism or hospitality industry.Employee must be on Income Assistance and referred by a Financial Awards Worker.

First Job in Science & Technology: Skilled workers in the high tech fields. Employers received up to $7.50 per hour. Employees must be a recent post secondary graduates in science, technology and engineering.

Job Start: To hire youth who are not planning to return to school. Employers receive up to $3.58 per hour. Employees must be between the ages of 17-24.

Job Wave: Subsidy for any employee in any sector except tourism. Employees must be on Income Assistance and referred by a Financial Awards Worker.

Student Summer Works: Employers may be re-imbursedup to 50% of the studens wages. (Max $4 per hour for a min of 150 hours of work) Employees must be Secondary/Post secondary, and recent post secondary grad workers.

Public Service Youth Employment Opportunities: This program is a work experience opportunity for youth to work the BC Government.or broader public sector. Employers get a subsidy for portion of wage. Positions are targeted to, but not restricted to, post secondary students and graduates, 29 years of age or under.

Targeted Wage Subsidy:Up to 40% of wages for 30 hours of work per week or more permanent work. Subsidy for E.I. recipient and referred by HRDC or have a disability.
